The Government has unveiled a new Urgent and Emergency Care Plan to improve ambulance response times and emergency department performance. Key measures include 500 new ambulances, 40 new same day emergency care and urgent treatment centres, and enhanced same-day care services up to 15 mental health crisis assessment centres.
NHS Providers and the NHS Confederation welcomed the plan as a positive step toward stabilising emergency care, and advocate for collaboration between health partners and the local government to work towards this plan.
