As part of the Government’s new AI Exemplars programme, designed to transform public services with proven AI solutions, new technology to write the documents that are needed to discharge people from hospital is being trialled at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust. The AI-assisted tool could support documents by extracting key details from medical records, such as diagnoses and test results, using a large language model. The news was welcomed by NHS Confederation in a statement.
