The Health Tech Alliance is an informal coalition of health tech companies working to drive up the adoption of medical technologies, devices and diagnostics that are prove to benefit patient outcomes and deliver cost savings to the NHS.
Chaired by Dame Barbara Hakin, the former Deputy Chief Executive of NHS England, the Alliance’s members range from start-ups to multinational companies. We work constructively with key bodies such as NICE, NHS England, Office for Life Sciences, NHS Improvement, NIHR and the Academic Health Science Networks to find tangible solutions to key healthcare problems. Our activities include:
An ongoing events programme: Through regular workshops and seminars, the Alliance’s members directly engage and collaborate with senior policymakers to identify viable solutions to current market access and reimbursement challenges.
Profile-raising activities: We regularly promote the MedTech sector to key policymakers and work with industry associations to highlight the benefit of health technologies to the health service.
Lobbying: The Alliance lobbies policymakers and Parliamentarians on policy issues that affect the sector, such as the implementation of the Accelerated Access Review and the Life Sciences Industrial Strategy.
Workstreams: Our members lead dedicated workstreams that focus on mapping out common challenges the industry faces, identify opportunities for collaboration and the sharing of best practice.
